Rick Weber

Rick has over 30 years of experience in the financial industry. Before joining Avalan, he served as a portfolio manager at Montecito Bank & Trust (MB&T) where he provided “personal care” by attending to his clients’ unique financial situations. Prior to joining MB&T, Rick served as Chief Risk Officer at P. Schoenfeld Asset Management and oversaw the arbitrage department that managed over a billion dollars in investments. This was after Rick had started his own institutional hedge fund that focused on event-driven investing. Previous to that, Rick worked at Angelo Gordon & Company where he focused on distressed investing. Rick began his career as a lawyer at Cravath, Swaine & Moore in New York specializing in mergers and acquisitions.

Rick is an active member of the Santa Ynez Valley community. He serves on the Board of the Cancer Foundation of Santa Barbara and is currently Chair of Community Service for the Solvang Rotary.

He could not be happier living with his wife in Santa Ynez, making new friends and giving back.
